Anthony Wallace
Anthony Wallace is a composer, sound artist and filmmaker. His musical pursuits have taken him on adventures in West Africa where he studied hand percussion and drum construction, to the far north in the Arctic Circle making sound installations in canyons and mountain peaks to down south in the Caribbean to produce dance music.
He is the Producer and Director of The Peel Project, an interdisciplinary feature documentary and touring art exhibit exploring six artists journey through the Peel River Watershed in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Anthony has scored feature films, televisions series as well as theatrical productions. His music has been played on CBC radio, his sound installations have toured nationally and he has worked on film/TV productions for CBC, APTN, Vision TV and Historica Canada.
Anthony obtained an Honours BFA in composition and improve violin from York University. In 2017 he released his first solo album “Of The Woods Pride”. In 2018 he was the resident artist for the Chilkoot Trail artist Residency program. Anthony has written and performed strings for numerous musicians including The Weather Station, Lcon, Saida Bab Talibah. He has produced singles for musicians Nick Sherman, Melody McKivor, Chelsea Russell, Nigel Irwin – produced full albums for Howl Canyon, Cow girl Choir, Orchards and currently working on The Holy Gasps next album.
